"One World" is a found footage music video that promotes environmentalism.
I was tasked with creating a piece that conveyed meaning and story through animation and found footage. I first conceptualized the idea of creating a piece on environmentalism and plastic pollution. I then found and acquired the rights to the song I wanted to use, and found and acquired rights to (when needed) appropriate footage to complement the idea. I then searched for news article headlines that talked about plastic pollution in oceans, and searched for nat sound that would accompany the footage that lacked sound. I used photoshop and after effects to animate some of the photos I found and then complied the video using Adobe Media Encoder, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. The point of the video was to show there is a plastic pollution issue, and then use the credits to convey what people are doing to combat the issue. |
This is a one-minute trailer I created for the film "The Hitchhiker." My end-goal was to make a contemporary trailer for an old film. In order to do so, I found eerie and fast-paced music to lay down throughout the piece. There's a part in the film where a newscaster announces details about the "hitchhike murderer" so I used that as a way to explain the premise of the film without giving too much away. I also created graphics and added nat sound/dialogue throughout the piece to emphasize sound-image relationships and create rhythmic editing. |

Cultural XChange is a non-narrative hosted docuseries where the host goes to different places in Chicago to highlight various cultures throughout the city.
For this short episode, I was tasked with going through hours of footage and interviews and creating an engaging piece that integrated the host, Damen Williams, in the story. I found the best sound bites from the interviews and b-roll and created a short piece that balanced "hosted" and verite moments. I also found and added music throughout the piece and created graphics, including lower thirds for the characters. The challenge in this piece was only utilizing the best shots that minimized bad camera movement. This piece was put together as part of my post-production class at Loyola. |
I was tasked with color correcting and color grading this short video that was originally edited by another classmate. The assignment was to make the video feel like a sci-fi film so I first color corrected each scene to ensure consistency and then I found inspiration from sci-fi movies like The Matrix and 10 Cloverfield Lane to color grade the short video.

"The Accident" is a short narrative piece I edited in my post-production class. I was tasked with sifting through various cuts and constructing the narrative spine, pacing and POV of a scene. I was also responsible for adding music and other nat sound to complement the scene. While there was more footage of the woman who's car was hit, I wanted to challenge myself to have the blond woman be the main character of the scene, so I built the narrative around that decision.
*Color correction and color grading were not applied to this edit. |
